EUFEMEDs Innovation Club Webinar

15. December 2023 @ 16:00 - 17:00
Webinar,

Online Christmas lecture: Axons Matter: Treating disorders of the central and peripheral nervous systems by targeting SARM-1 mediated axonal degeneration

INFORMATION

Speaker: Raul Krauss, Ph.D. - Senior Vice President, Co-Founder & Head of Biology, Disarm Therapeutics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Eli Lilly & Co

Axonal degeneration is an early and ongoing event that causes disability and disease progression in many neurodegenerative disorders of the peripheral and central nervous systems. Small molecule SARM1 (sterile alpha and TIR motif containing 1) inhibitors have the potential to prevent axonal degeneration in peripheral and central axonopathies and to provide a transformational disease-modifying treatment for these disorders. This lecture will discuss the role of SARM1 in axonal degeneration, and the discovery, preclinical evaluation and first steps in early clinical development of small molecule SARM1 inhibitors.

This is the second of four 2023-2024 EUFEMED webinars. Dates for the other 2 webinars will be announced soon.

Member tickets are available for members of: Association of Human Pharmacology in the Pharmaceutical Industry (AHPPI - UK), Healixia (Belgium), Association Française de Pharmacologie Translationnelle (AFPT – France), Association for Applied Human Pharmacology (AGAH - Germany), Associatie van Contract Research Organisaties in Nederland (ACRON - Netherlands), and Polish Federation for Early Medicines Development (Polfemed - Poland)
