Making the Investigator’s Brochure Truly Fit for Purpose in Early Medicines Development

Sep 20 - Sep 20, 2024  |  09:00 – 16:30
Program Information

We are thrilled to announce our upcoming EUFEMED workshop: "Making the Investigator’s Brochure Truly Fit for Purpose in Early Medicines Development".

September 20, 2024 (Friday), 9:00 am – 4:30 pm
Venue: University of Warsaw, Faculty of Applied Linguistics, Dobra 55, Warsaw, Poland.
Save the date and join us in the beautiful city of Warsaw this September. Bringing together expert practitioners from the Phase I community, the workshop will focus on how our collective insights can be utilized to make the Investigator’s Brochure truly fit for purpose.
The primary objective of this workshop is to enhance the Investigator’s Brochure (IB) process, ensuring it serves its true purpose in Phase 1 trials: enabling responsible investigators to conduct reliable benefit-risk assessments. Currently, as raised during our EUFEMED Conference in Berlin in May 2023, practices often reduce the IB to merely a Clinical Trial Authorization document, overlooking the Principal Investigators’ need for a thorough understanding of translational study results to effectively implement necessary risk mitigation steps

In this workshop, we aim to:

•    Create a more meaningful IB process focused on translational results interpretation.
•    Ensure investigator-centered presentation and decision-making.
•    Align with existing and upcoming international requirements

Join us to contribute to our discussions and help shape the future of early-phase trials.

First in Human - Early Phase Clinical Trials - Aktuelle praktische Fragen und Lösungsvorschläge

Dec 1, 2023
Program Information
INHALT

AGAH – Applied Course in Data Management
Sep 15, 2023
Program Information

Since 2012 generous donations have enabled the Organizing Committee of the PK/PD Expert Meeting to reward outstanding contributions to the PK/PD field by young scientists with the Hans Günter Schäfer Award (cash amount of 1000 EUR plus free meeting participation incl. travel expenses) issued in memory of the original initiator of the PK/PD Expert Meeting. The award is kindly sponsored by the Frankfurt Foundation Quality of Medicines.

Doctorate students and young scientists, who want to apply for this award, send their manuscript published in a peer-reviewed scientific journal as a pdf file by February 17th, 2023 to Dr Andreas Kovar (andreas.kovar[@]sanofi.com). The winner will be informed by March 24th, 2023, present their work during the meeting and will be announced on the website of the PK/PD Expert Meeting.

Master / Doctorate students: Best presentation award

In 2019, a special event was launched allowing a limited number of young PK/PD scientists (master thesis students and doctorate students) to give short presentations of their work followed by a short discussion with the auditorium.

Master thesis students and doctorate students, who want to apply for this award, send an abstract of their presentation (1 page maximum) by February 17th, 2023 to Dr Andreas Kovar (andreas.kovar[@]sanofi.com) for selection of invitation. Three applicants will be selected and invited for presentation. Applicants will be informed by March 24th, 2023.

All invited presenters will participate free of charge (incl. accommodation). The best presenter will be honored and will receive the “Young Scientist Best Presentation Award” endowed with 200 € plus reimbursement of travel expenses.
